Capt. Tj Frein
USCG LICENSED CAPTAIN.
Tj is originally from a small fishing town in northern Arkansas, where he grew up fishing and guiding on Bull Shoals Lake and the White River.
It is in Bull Shoals as well as in southern Arkansas, fishing the flooded timber and muddy waters with his grandfather, that Tj became infatuated with fishing and the outdoors in general.
Tj guided for eight years in North Central Arkansas. Until craving bigger fish, more fish, and bigger water lead him to Northern California. He found the pacific ocean and its fishery in Ketchikan was exactly what he was looking for.
In 2017 Tj moved to Ketchikan to guide and fish the great state of Alaska.
It is here Tj found a new home that continues to satisfy his need for adventure and fishing. It is his pleasure to provide this same experience to his clients.

From the “Trout Capitol of the USA” to the “Salmon Capitol of the World”.
Jan’s first time fly fishing was with Tj on their first date.
Jan was born and raised in Mountain Home, Arkansas, not too far from Norfork Lake. Tj and Jan met in college in their home town.
As a young girl, Jan went fishing a handful of times on the Norfork River. Little did she know Tj would show her a whole other world when it came to fishing. From fly fishing, spearfishing, bow fishing, night fishing, to rainbow trout, brown trout, bass, walleye, crappie, and catfish Tj shared with her experiences that she otherwise would have never had.
In 2017 Jan and Tj moved to Ketchikan Alaska. Living in Alaska, Jan discovered she liked fishing as a career for herself.
In 2018 she decided to work with Tj on the boat. Unsure as to what fishing for a living and as a woman would entail, she has come to love all aspects of it.
Jan is looking forward to the upcoming fishing season in Ketchikan!
